> I believe the intention was more "Don't pressure your kids and stress yourself trying to get them to read before even starting school". Yeah, I think this is actually the right approach. A lot of children will learn reading without specific training if you read picture books with them in your lap and they're looking at the pictures and the letters. If they do, that's great; if they don't, that's fine too. Structured reading practice and development can happen later. |
