When MySpace was popular, you could sometimes stumble upon profiles that looked like this. MySpace's HTML/CSS customization was a great feature.

It was the gateway to a career in software for several people that I know. It's a pity we don't trust users with freedom like that anymore.
I've always thought if myspace had .js support we would have an army of quite diverse programmers.

Yes! Back in high school, one of the most impressive MySpace profiles I ever encountered was by a peer who went on to build Lil Wayne's website.
