That is true in some way but the original decision to shut them down was taken about 20 years ago by the left red/green government. Merkels convernment initially decided to keep them running longer but took a 180 after Fukushima, probably as you say having the right feeling for the majority opinion in the country at that time. |

Later there came the exit out of the exit probably by conservatives (I don't remember).
After Fukushima came the exit out of the exit out of the exit by Merkel, conservative. That was slightly delayed by Covid or Russia's attack war (don't remember, probably the latter) but finalized last night.
