Uncertainty is the casual term for entropy. The “distributed potential” definition applies to “information theory” as well as physical phenomena. I believe it superior (encompassing) to the postulation based on thermodynamics. Information is the removal of uncertainty. If it does not remove uncertainty, it is not information. (This would be datum, or bulldata, or factlets I suppose.) Intelligence is the mitigation of uncertainty, if it does not mitigate uncertainty it is not intelligence. A frequent response to this denotation regards creativity. There are intelligent and unintelligent creativities. Intelligence need not account for dumb luck. |
