Don't be negative about revolutionary new technology that can make the world a better place. As it stands, people believe whatever dumb thing they read online. Thanks to AI, they will have to learn that if something is out of the ordinary, they should confirm with multiple sources. I call this a net win. And for those literally medically incapable of this level of reasoning, we will soon have "AI firewalls" (Gibson ICE) that can tell people "Hey, this looks like a scam!" and also help them reason about complex topics. This is fantastic, what a time to be alive! |

I once shared this approach, but learned that the majority of people don't really want to leave their echo chambers and gladly accept anything that amplifies it. And the bad part about it is that the western world is based on democracy, and democracy is controlled by the majority. You may not care about people that are easy to manipulate, but in reality you are not the target as your voice won't matter at scale.
