My boss years ago had to fire an employee when a background check indicated that they were an IRA member. He fired the guy, got in a cab to the airport, and got the next plane out of Ireland back to the US.
oooofff... I had to fire someone once with a serious anger management problem. This was legitimately one of the scenarios we considered in how to best let them go and not have anyone get hurt.
