Brilliantly put. I think AI has potential to do many wonders for humanity - but are we ready for its impact on our current model of capitalism? The industrial revolution automated a good deal of physical labor. Now the AI revolution is automating mental labor. What role will humans play in a society in which robots excel at everything? Humans have innovated themselves out of existence. Will the only viable careers be in entertainment (preferring to watch a real person play football as opposed to AI-generated football footage?) Will only the most complex physical and mental labor be the only viable sources of income - a master plumber making a fortune while the average STEM degree earns nothing?

I strongly believe in capitalism - but I can't deny that some changes will need to be made soon in order for 99% of people to survive being outcompeted by robots.

Blacksmiths and woodworkers had to train for more years than the average software engineer to start making a living. Their hard labour has been replaced by capital in a heartbeat. Should it be different just because our horses are higher and our hands cleaner?

Wherever you live, I suspect that it's bit more than _some_ change to capitalism that would be needed to accommodate for 99% of jobs disappearing.
