To be clear, when someone says "quality of life" they're referring to health, well-being, and happiness, whatever that is. Buying a Porsche implies a certain standard of living, not quality of life. Completely orthogonal concepts. We Americans mix up these concepts frequently, which explains a lot about the culture. |
