Motorboats are for people who want to get to the destination, Sailboats are for people who want to enjoy the journey. It's funny though, James Bond books don't illicit the same ire that Pynchon does and I'd argue the two are very similar - reading between the lines, that is. As another reader mentioned GR was just "yet another scene ending in kinky sex or the characters getting inebriated". |
