The documentation and usability of Twitter's API has been in decline for at least a few years now. I gave up in 2018/19 (or whenever they implemented the new version of their API?). This has nothing to do with the advent of Musk, and anyone blaming him are insufferable Musk haters (which is pretty standard these days). In the beginning, their API was a joy to use and a lot of neat software popped up around it. There was some drama around them making changes internally (API changes) which put some of these companies out of business. People became weary of their API since. That said, I would love to see a completely revamped API with great documentation. |
