They discontinued the Linux client last year so don't hold your breath. They forced everyone to switch to the Chrome PWA. My notifications do not work in Chrome so I had to go back to the desktop version.
It still kinda works fine (ymmv) for me in Firefox on Linux, you just need a full 2 minutes to join a call, so maybe click early if you don't want to be late. The connection is usually (90%) followed up by a small hiccup where it seems you might be disconnecting but then it's stable.
I'm saying this unironically. It's ridiculous and kind of a mess and I'm very glad I only have to join 2-3 per month, but it's reliably semi-working. Or maybe my bar has been set very low by other things.
