How can a compiler course not be requeried for a comp.sci degree? We had that. And i’m surprised others do not.

We didn't have compilers in undergrad, but we had formal languages being required.

It's been quite a while, but I believe my school required Automata Theory, which is at least diffeomorphic to Formal Languages.
