That would cause big problems with students on the spectrum or suffering from ADHD or social anxiety, which in our field is... a lot of them. I am a lot less anxious now in my 40s than I was in my early 20s, but a public talk is enough to make me lose sleep for a week, despite having done it dozens of times. In my 20s it would have been an impossible task.
What doesn't kill you makes you stronger. I don't like public speaking and I have ADHD. I still wish I had to do this more because it makes me stronger. The hard truth is that employers don't care about your anxiety.
