Big Linux 2.82.0 (2023) release vibe. The gist is... 3.0 wasn't breaking, they just got tired of ticking minor versions. The what if is what if Linux hadn't done that... What if we just stuck on Linux 2, as semver suggests we do? I think that has premise has held true forever, that major versions are just for show on Linux. I used to keep the tally of Linux releases... Wonder where we really are. |
