They just mention the two biggest economic factors (bird flu and inflation) as an aside and then never address it again. What a joke.

The Economist has a slant to be sure, but its usually higher quality than this. Sounds like there's a deeper motive to this article.

Yeah I'm generally a big fan of the Economist but this article is just lousy. I'm mystified why they published it at all.
