I really wish I can just send mail with bulletpoints without all the formality stuff and walk around the egg shells.

But alas, that's the way it is. Reminds me the custom in Japan working culture. There are so many unspoken rules you are expected to follow and it became hinderance.

I had a manager that was like this. Bullet points for complicated stuff, but most of the time the answer was just "OK", "Yes", "No" or perhaps a number if you asked for a quantity. Not even hello/goodbye, just a "Sent from my iPhone".
