He was banned on provenly false pretenses, although it’s still a matter of debate what the real reasons were.

Chased away was probably the wrong way to put it.

He was banned explicitly for a comment calling Marissa Mayer a cunt (via an archaic spelling, and with no other real substance to the comment), which I don't think he's ever denied or retracted.
