i.e. TLDR there are thieves, arsonists and other criminals so let's be 1 too? We're truly doomed if everyone's like this.

There are bad players everywhere, but you don't have to get corrupted?

This does have everything to do with the corporate world because that is where the originator of this post works and that is where I work. And NOT once, at all, in my long version or my TLDR version did I advocate that we become this way ("corrupt" or "criminal") either, as our personalities generally wouldn't allow it.

In fact, I stated: "The only way you can really get through it is to either deal with it or to get out of it, by starting your own company, or coming up with other multiple streams of income." [to paraphrase]

For as long as I've been in corporate... I've always experienced aspects of it. It's not technically considered criminal or corrupt, as these types of things happen in this environment, and many do get away with it, and it's not seen as anything at all. There are just some people, who happen to be in a type of management position, who steal an idea, and are able run with it.

I hope the "real world" and every job in it is not all like this.
