If you want to be a solutions architect make a resume that focuses on the work you have done that is solutions architect work and see if someone will hire you. There isn't anything in the industry that marks you as a software developer vs. a solutions architect other than your title. Titles aren't as meaningful as the work you have done so just don't put a title for your jobs on your resume. If asked you can say you were a member of the technical staff with responsibilities that include work that fits in a solutions architect role. This will let you know if you actually want to do that role or not. In my experience there are a lot of "architects" and "product managers" out there that have no idea what they are doing and are using cargo cult practices to fake it until they make it. Some make it and some don't. Let go of your anger over people taking credit for your work. It happens a lot, use the experience you gained in doing the work for find a new job where people will appreciate what you do for the company or product. The people who don't know what they are doing and steal credit will soon be discovered, or not, but you will not be there to see it and may never know. |
