Play your own game. Take the money, do some of the work. See if you can amuse yourself by naming things oddly, or getting misspellings or malapropisms into official documents. At one point, I got a requirement for "patience of a zen monk" into a disaster recovery plan, and an error message of "Incredibly grotesque and horrible error #3" into some code. Maybe work to rule in some situations, but be super polite about it. Write contorted code. That is, take it out on them passive aggressively, or treat it as performance art |
