They are generally out of touch with the people they manage, clueless about how to effectively help them, and they spend a lot of time posturing. So I guess... the job description fits that of a washed up politician? Then there are the 5% of upper managers that know what they're doing. But to the rest it would be an insult if you asked them to 1-to-1 with a random employee and actually understand the real problems in the company. Anyone feeling this is wrong is free to test it. Ask an upper manager in a large tech company to speak with your coworker who's frustrated at work. Maybe about RTO - there are many of those around now. Good luck! |
