People will give time to people that add value to their lives. If you're targeting a market where you can't add value because you don't understand it, you have to get creative. What has worked for me in these circumstances is to - no joke - offer jokes. Your initial message has to be witty and fun, and then you need to make sure they have an actual good time in the interview (and also ask some solid questions). If you can do that, they will give you referrals. Once you get a couple of these calls done, you'll have a general understanding of the space you are targeting and can move on to other methods. |
