I did 6 years at my first job. Then I moved so I “had” to quit (this was 15 years ago so long before remote was common). Then I realized switching from desktop software rich in processing and complex algorithms to working on things with a web stack was terrible. Just doing crud plumbing was soul crushing. I asked for my old job back (remotely) and have been there since. I now realize that if I rule out any job with any web or db’s in it then I likely rule out 99% of all dev jobs. And that’s fine. |
