I left a job I really liked after 9 months, when a team I knew offered me a role at an early stage company. I took that job and stayed almost four years, and when it wound down, I went back to the previous job. Things had changed - it grew a lot - but many of the leaders I'd known during my first, short stint were still there. I came back at a more senior level, and came in with a positive reputation amongst many of the people who I hadn't worked with before, based on having done good work my first time out. This worked really well for me.

I have never regretted quitting a job I disliked.
