The article covers that. Russians were using DJI's own Aeroscope device to identify DJI drone and pilot locations within 30 miles. In response, DJI claimed DroneID was encrypted and inaccessible to those without the "carefully controlled Aeroscope devices." This article exists because researchers recently released a public tool that makes it easier for anyone with interest to interpret DroneID data. |
