It is interesting to hear what they want, and as an employee, I agree. However most of the companies I know want to see the employee at least one day a week, I think it's a fair compromise.

It's not a fair compromise, because it's largely useless. About 2/3 of employees want to work remote for very practical reasons. Time saved commuting, increased productivity, more autonomy in the day to day life. Having people come in once per week as a compromise is purely an exercise in optics the majority of the time.
