Well, this doesn't matter. It is all about incentives. CEO class is motivated by KPIs. Focus solely on KPI creates volatility in all the other variables that are not this year's KPIs. Hiring and then firing feels like work, hence needs to be compensated. Nobody in the corporate america is compensated to explicitly do nothing, even though it might be the most appropriate move in a given quarter. |
