So the trick seems to be not to write pages about this stuff but try to hit a (as much of a) homerun first, then spend away on your favorite humanity issues. In that sense, effective altruism - until it got hijacked by alleged straight-up thieves - was on to something, except it was just a rehash of the ages-long "put your own mask first" wisdom. |
