Wasn’t the coast guard one of the agencies that concluded that Russia hacked the DMC emails? It’s ridiculous how every transit district and university and other government agencies all have their own law enforcement departments. They all want to expand their jurisdiction to increase their budgets.

That whole thing was a mess. Basically there are 17 agencies that share intelligence and are all under a single person. That one person made the claim, using the power of his office to make it seem like “17 agencies” had concluded Russia was behind the hack when it was really just his office making the claim.

It’s like the president making a claim “every branch of the military has concluded X” just because the president is commander in chief.

The coast guard is part of the Department of Homeland Security, and law enforcement is one of their primary purposes.
