You don't give permissions to an arbitrary Android app because you don't trust it, whereas GNU Emacs can be fully trusted, (unless you run untrusted Emacs Lisp code, ofc). I even tend to think it requires too few permissions, e.g. it cannot initiate phone calls. If you don't trust the F-droid build, you can always build it from the sources. |
