There is a standard pathway. Diverging from it doesn't cripple people, at least anyone I know. The pathway was different 100 years ago, or 400 years ago. It's all good. Personally, though, if I were him, I'd do something different, like a field of engineering. The math and physics will give a huge edge, while he's learning new stuff. |
