Moving away from consumption based growth and imposing ideologies (inc. religious) could stop the need to conquer and expand. If it is possible at all is anyone's guess. It would take the one in power to lead the change (US), but having seen what they have been up to it is quite hard. The alternative is the rise of a new power that is willing to lead a change. |
