> What you state isnt far off, as tractors have got bigger so the plough cuts deeper and the soil erosion increases. Old style moldboard plows drawn by horses or oxen cut about 4-6 inches deep. A modern cultivator is usually set to a depth of about 0.5 - 2 inches. |
