No shit, I am describing the childhood roots that enabled the 180 degree value shift from the generation before them. The commercialization of hip hop is what transformed hip hop from a sub-culture into a market and mainstream force. A large part of that was hip hop's lyrics condemning the "no sell out" culture. |
