Having been on both side of press like this “immediately” means a couple of hours at most. Sometimes it means “I spoke to someone, they said they’d come back to me, but I didn’t want to wait”. I’ve seen cases where emails are sent outside of work hours on a Friday/Weekend so the journalist can claim that the subject “did not respond to repeated requests for comment” on Monday morning. Journalists often have a story they want to tell. They intentionally arrange things to support their story. |
