Is OpenAI's ChatGPT open source? If not, the argument this person is making with this following statement: "...would have discarded the whole software industry in 1972 as "just a wrapper on top of the C programming language". is a complete strawman and a borderline non sequitur argument. Unless we do see a viable open source ChatGPT competitor, all the moat goes to Microsoft / OpenAI, which is why everyone is rushing to get in on ChatGPT's API to depend their business on it. So "just a wrapper on top of GPT3" is a completely valid argument. |
