Subreddits seem to alternate between power-tripping moderators who ban for little to no real reason (or even because you are a subscribed member of another subreddit they don't like), and completely open season subreddits with no moderation at all.

HN is so much better, because we self-police more effectively, and because dang is even tempered while still being thorough.
