“Influencer” isn’t really a term I would associate with “authentic and trustworthy” - like very nearly by definition.

Maybe it’s just a matter of terminology, because I’d trust organizations like America’s Test Kitchen or Consumer Reports to inform me about products and help me make better purchasing decisions… but ‘influencer’ sounds like some quirky tiktok vlogger with obnoxious video filters begging for me to subscribe in a annoying voice.

Text reviews are nonsense and easy to spam, video reviews are more trustworthy because there's a human face and personality associated with it, it isn't from a review farm in Macedonia for a scam product with an auto-generated company name.

No, not really, you can easily buy testimonials, on for example Fiverr.
