Show HN: No code landing page I made for my startup idea with yep.so (yep.so)
9 points by maxamillion2020 1227 days ago
I wanted to share a project I've been working on : Styrate, a social rating and review platform for products. I built a landing page for it using a no-code platform, which allowed me to create a professional and functional website without writing any code.

As someone who is not very tech-savvy, I was able to easily build a landing page that looks and functions like it was built by a professional. This really showcases the power of no-code platforms, as they allow people with limited technical knowledge(me) to create websites, apps, and other digital products without having to learn how to code.

If you guys know any other no-code websites or resources, feel free to chime in.

“Influencer” isn’t really a term I would associate with “authentic and trustworthy” - like very nearly by definition.

Maybe it’s just a matter of terminology, because I’d trust organizations like America’s Test Kitchen or Consumer Reports to inform me about products and help me make better purchasing decisions… but ‘influencer’ sounds like some quirky tiktok vlogger with obnoxious video filters begging for me to subscribe in a annoying voice.

Text reviews are nonsense and easy to spam, video reviews are more trustworthy because there's a human face and personality associated with it, it isn't from a review farm in Macedonia for a scam product with an auto-generated company name.

No, not really, you can easily buy testimonials, on for example Fiverr.

Is this an ad for the no-code website builder platform?

Why is the "built with no code" aspect stressed in the post?

> I built a landing page for it using a no-code platform [...] create a professional and functional website without writing any code.

> I was able to easily build a landing page [...] like it was built by a professional [...] power of no-code platforms.

Similarly the post title:

It starts with "no code landing page", doesn't describe the actual startup idea, and mentions the no-code website builder URL at the end.

I have been struggling to build a landing page for my startup and I tried to build one in react but it turned out looking worse than my aunts chocolate chip cookies. I think that coding a landing page is a major bottleneck for startups and I am happy to have found this. I don't work for yep.co and i found this on a paywalled substack originally.
Building a landing page is not a major bottleneck because there are hundreds of landing page builders available. It's a very common SaaS.
I didn't not know about that as a nontechnical founder, and therefore there are probably 100's of people who didn't know and that this post might help.
Is this just a mailing list? If I sign up, will I just be spammed by ads for random products? The landing page tries to look like it's for a completed service, but it doesn't say what the service actually does.
It's a sign-up page for the beta. I don't even have the technical skill to spam people with ads, which is why I used a no-code service. The most that will happen is that you will get early access to the platform when it launches
What consumers personally and positively identify as "consumers"?

I don't see how this landing page speaks to "consumers"

It's also super jargony.

This heavily reads like an ad
