Could you explain what a smart contract is? (and is that a dumb question? lol)

Hi Jennifer! Not a dumb question at all, a smart contract is very similar to a traditional legal contract, but it is for the web3/blockchain space. Rather than being written in english, it is written with code and executes on its own when a certain set of criteria is met. Most users interact with them anytime they purchase an NFT, or token of any kind, so important to know what you are agreeing to. Hope that helps :)
