Back in the day I would have often said that these con artists targeted the laziest of the population, but the more I think about it, they are targeting the most desperate.

For any young person in 2023, a “normal” income doesn’t cut it anymore. You aren’t going to start a family on it, or go on vacation and buy two cars.
