Users are infatuated with and romanticize GTP. It’s similar to translation software. Compared to the human mind they’re brute force algorithms with access to warehouses of personal data. Any mention of this fact sends users into fits. It’s borderline compulsive. I often hear people saying “I don’t understand how it works but I think it’s impressive” and that sort of says it all. GTP attracts people who don’t know and/or don’t want to know how it works. They can’t reconcile their appreciation for it with the fact that it’s unimpressive. It’s a golden apple.
