For something the antithesis of the Twitter format, try "A Collection of Unmitigated Pedantry", a blog about ancient Mediterranean history through the lens of video games (what games get right, and what they get wrong, and how and why). The series "Bread: How did they make it?" and "Iron: How did they make it?"[2] are particularly interesting, but it's all very good.
