t used to be a counterculture, with cypherpunks, phreaking, and DIY ham radio operators, etc. Today, it seems many of the people were gobbled up by the system and actively support centralized Big Tech solutions. Still is. Thing is, just because something is decentralized or against the incumbent system doesn't mean it's good. There are lots of grifters and opportunists across the socio-political spectrum that seek to exploit idealism and frustration for selfish ends, funneling people towards cults, scams etc. etc.. If it's wrapped in the language of religiosity or ideology it's generally a hard pass from me. Also, video in general is a very inefficient way to communicate information. |
