I find it hilarious that every time humankind invents a new unexpected technology, the first use cases are always entertainment. Other examples than deepfakes or ChatGPT:

- https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Aeolipile

- first batteries were used on parties to run current through people for fun

- first use of uranium was in phosphorescent paint

Or maybe that's the first time other people (most people) hear about them? I'm quite sure the first usage of batteries was not "used on parties to run current through people for fun". Probably some boring scientists or engineers used them for other purposes long before that.
First people have fun. Then the business people monetize it.
