1:100 is nothing these days. The initial alarm bells over "global warming" didn't have access to the computational resources we have today and focused on average global temperature. We're seeing 1:1000 events downright frequently these days because the planet hasn't seen conditions like this in a very long time and our statistical models have a hundred years of lag built-in. I do hope they get their engineering right; fabs are full of nasty chemistry and in a flood plain it will travel quite far as the water rises. Isn't Ohio tornado country? |
