The book "The 5 Second Rule" by Mel Robbins has one single idea in it. Some of the example people she describes sound like they are in almost exactly your spot. The author has a couple of past mentions on YC and she has done a Ted talk and some other videos that are on the net. I am guessing that the book might be the best introduction.
