It's amazingly true. And it's not 2x, it's 3-5x depending on workload. I've got an i9 MBP, and I've been using an M1 MBP for the last year for work. The M1 I don't even need to plug in, I can work with it for 2-3 days on a single charge, the i9 I essentially run plugged in all the time. Also the fans never even start on the M1. They run a LOT on the i9 and it throttles and gets very hot often due to my workloads. Apple may have a history, as you say, and I wish they'd publish more quantitative metrics -- but this thing really works. It's life changing. |
