That's not a fair comparison because your observation will be heavily weighted to the status quo. Construct a parallel universe B where the norm is the more expensive boxes and introduce the cheaper ones. I put my lot in with the result that in both cases people don't switch. In universe A people will be averse to the increase in price. In universe B people will be averse to the decrease in quality. The only thing the experiment will show is humans weigh losses that come as a result of change heavier than gains. |
