This paper is quite interesting to frame some of the announcements of the architecture of Intel's recent Sapphire Rapids launch. Intel has moved strongly into accelerators, HBM, and improving interconnects. This has the result of shrinking a whole system to a CPU, but also allowing scaling of many CPUs together.
